Norwegian Chill Tribe Records is back with a new album, this time with the talented Ian Ion from Denmark, most known for groundbreaking projects such as KoxBox, Saiko-Pod, The Overlords, as well as other noted bands such as Conamore, Sri Hari, Epoptika and Russia Heat.
Ian has been a recording artist for over twenty years, exploring two decades of electronic music in many forms. He has kept his innovative spirit alive with tremendous success within many areas of the music industry, including producing, programming, composing, dj-ing, engineering, mastering, teaching, consulting work, visuals, promotion and sales, besides touring all around the world. He has also worked behind the scenes for Sony Playstation, Roskilde Festival, Bang & Olufsen, Denmark's Radio, TC Electronic, The Danish Music Academy to name but a few.
Here he gives us his first ever solo ambient album, selecting the fruits of ambient works from the past ten years, exploring deep journeys into sound and experimental creativity. This project was first seeded at the Roskilde Festival in 1998, when he was asked to serve a one hour soundscape for their octaphonic sound system at D-Day. The project has grown from there, and is now finally available for the listeners worldwide.

Ishq has been circulating in the psychedelic underground and various ambient circles ever since it was released. The Azarius musicstore crew simply loves this album and we still play it in our DJ sets and of course at work, at home and... well, anywhere we can.

Kajuyali Tsamani from Colombia is from two worlds, the academic and the native Amazonian shamanic world. With a Ph. D in anthropology, he was initiated to plant shamanism in the Amazonian jungle in 1978.
Ayahuasca shamans sing icaros half the duration of a ceremony with patients that require healing. These icaros are spiritual songs of cosmic origin, derived from stars and ancestral spirits and such. Based on the repitition of a basic theme gradually transforming over time, icaros are an essential part of the ayahuasca experience and keep the atmosphere suitable for a deep voyage with powerful culminations and transformations.
Unfortunately not everyone can always go visit a Jaguar shaman such as Kajuyali Tsamani. We are lucky, however, that his beautiful voice and astral melodies have been recorded various times. The latest CD contains over 70 minutes of soothing, guiding, healing icaros and percussion playing, in the ancient shamanistic tradition of Amazonian plant shamanism. Some songs even include a steeldrum like instrument of Swiss origin of which the first one was produced in 2001 and the last in 2006: the hang.
The recordings were made in 2006, during Kajuyali's travels and ceremonies in Colombia. Highly recommended for anyone interested in shamanism and those who seek the right musical accompaniment for a deep entheogenic experience, especially ayahuasca.

From the center of Amsterdam comes the refreshing chillout compilation Kokopelli compiled by Veer and Supergroover. A single release to celebrate the 10th anniversary of smartshop Conscious Dreams Kokopelli. Chillout has been the soundtrack of this famous smartshop over the years and after listening all those years they decided to release some of the tunes that have spiced up the shop.
A nice and relaxing track by Tom and Gijs starts the cd, to be continued by Siebzehn, a German producer that effortlessly writes beautiful music. He delivers three lovely tracks. Prosect from Israel is already a famous name on the scene with an album named Sound Field. He brings us a orientally influenced track which becomes a little upbeat in the end.
Moravec is another promising Dutch producer. This track has a lovely gentle hypnotic chilled-out vibe to it. Next is Organix, a duo from Amsterdam that used to focus on producing a progressive sound but lately started to make more chillout tracks as well. They are fully dedicated to producing music and are doing a vrey good job. Their track makes you wanna swim and glide through other dimensions. Last but not least is Samorost, a Costa Rican producer that surely knows how to put emotion in his music. A very relaxing track to end this musical journey.

The Berlin-based producer and remixer uses the static and glitches produced by a malfunctioning electronic filter as the backdrop for much of his minimalist IDM, as well as a compositional sense that keeps his skeletal, almost hypnotic music an absorbing listen. Random sirens sound, and various other noisemakers make their appearances and then exit, as in the more eccentric work of some of his greatest inspirations, including King Tubby and Augustus Pablo.

Yagya's name is a derivative of the Yajna ritual. Commonly practised in Vedic times, Hinduists would put sacrifices in a fire to celebrate and honour the cosmic creative principle that connects everything. I've heard music from all corners of the planet involving such dedication, nevertheless Yagya is very different.
I'm still trying to get my head around artists like Yagya, such as Biosphere and Pete Namlook. I reckon there's nothing to grasp about Yagya's music, though. Just listening to the music does what it needs to do. And it definitely takes you to places you haven't been before.
'Will I Dream' is a mix of gradually built-up both dark and enchanting ambient, typically supported by a steady 4/4 kick and a host of dubdelay-lay-lay noises and reverberating clicks. The serene and cosmic part is represented by the strings, synths and pads, playing minor chords throughout the album.
After all the dark, scenic, serene journeys, the last track of the album has a certain angelic quality. Tying Yagya's mental journeys together, this uplifting track is a bright epiphany in the story of 'Will I Dream During the Process'.
